First Kansas City Glass Meetup

It's on the books!  We've got the Fiber Space (event room) to ourselves from 6-8pm on July 23rd and all the bandwidth we could want for demos, walkthroughs, user experiences and anything else we want to cover.

Find more details on the Discussion pages, and feel free to suggest any other topics that we should cover.

      No worries. Turns out we needed prior approval to record/stream video from the Fiber Space, so we couldn't do any Hangouts on Air last night. I, Ryan Mott and Rich Schmick were all there from VML last night, so feel free to track one of us down for a recap.

    Super fun first Meetup. Thank you Chris and Ryan. Good Pizza and love being in the Fiber Space! I think there were a lot of unanswered questions that we could use the discussions page here to address.

    I'm picking up Glass in a few days but can't make it in to KC tomorrow night. Hopefully next time!

      No problem David, we should have next month's meetup planned soon. I'll be sending out G+ Hangout details ahead of the meeting tomorrow though, so let me know if you'd like me to send you an invite.

    Silly question: Do I need to have a pair of Google Glass to attend? Will there be an opportunity to try a pair?

    1 · July 22, 2013

    • Chris R.

      Nope, no need to have Glass! This meetup is for anyone interested in the platform, whether they have a pair or not, and there should be ample opportunity to try it out for yourself.

    We have a location! The Google Fiber Space has accepted our application and will host our very first meetup .

    What this means:
    * Super, super, super fast Internet (up and down)
    * A new, large, well-appointed meeting space
    * Lots of methods for display (TVs, projectors, etc)

    What we need:
    * Presenters: we need people willing to speak to a number of topics regarding Glass. Specifically, those willing to speak about the user interface, the development platform (Mirror API), and specific industries, activities and other use cases for Glass in the wild.
    * Attendees: we have a ton of space to fill and only two people have RSVP'd. I have heard from a few others that are planning to attend, so please make sure to RSVP if you think you might be there. You can always cancel if you have other plans.
    * A date: We're currently looking at Monday, 7/22 from 6-8pm, but we need input from everyone to make sure this is a workable timeframe.
