(Following on the heels of the serious email I just sent about gun violence & what to do about the problem of violence in our world in general, I share these breathtaking photographs as a tribute to the Beauty in the world--both natural & human made -- and as a reminder to what we have at stake to PROTECT from the destructiveness of gun powder . . .  enjoy this healing balm and remember "what a beautiful world it is/CAN be"):

(Reminds me of the inscription at the Greek-columned, half-moon-shaped sitting alcove in Kraft Gardens in Winter Park, FL (a favorite spot for outdoor weddings):  "Pause, Friend & Let Beauty Refresh Thy Spirit.") . . . the lavender field in France is breathtaking--& looks so soft that you could just lay on it & be enveloped IN it.

Hiller Lake in Western Australia. It's startling color remains a mystery and while scientists have proven it's not due to the presence of algae, unlike the other salt lakes down under, they still can't explain why it's pink.
The gap between Europe and the United States is widening - by one inch a year. This photograph shows the vast gap between the two tectonic plates, as seen by a British scuba diver. The area - near Iceland - is riddled with faults, valleys, volcanoes and hot springs caused by the plates pulling apart at about 1 inch per year.
