Dag Wästberg is offering to do a session. This is his description:

Python is a popular language in the field of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and spatial analysis and is used as the main scripting language by a host of both open source and proprietary tools.  I will be giving a very brief introduction to the field, talk a little bit about the sort of projects I work on and showing some of the tools and libraries available for python.  Then there will be a hands on session where we do some simple spatial analysis and an introduction to how to create maps in python for data presentation.

Thankyou to Nils Svangård and Tajitsu who have offered to host and sponsor this meeting with food!

The session I plan on running will primarily use shapely, matplotlib and cartopy. Depending on how much time we have, we might to some more advanced things which will require using pysal and pandas.

On *nix machines pip or your local package manager of choice should work for all of them. On windows you're probably better off grabbing them from http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/ as most of them have a compiled native extensions dependency.
