Graph processing with Hadoop & HBase by Brandon Vargo, Senior Platform Engineer

FullContact is trying to solve the world’s contact information problem. We have a big graph of contact data (~20 billion edges) that we use to power smart deduplication, automatic contact updates, recommender systems, and backend analytics. We use Hadoop for running graph algorithms at scale in combination with a real-time query and update system powered by Storm and HBase. Come how we use graphs to make contacts better.

I gave this meetup 5 out of 5 stars. The presentation by Brandon from FullContact was excellent. Galvanize is a great place. The organizers for the event did a great job making this event possible. I will definitely return for future meetups here and will recommend to friends.
