Thanks to Jim from KFR for hosting the our next meeting! Come and get to know your colleagues better. We'll to learn about the RepRap family of rapid prototyping machines and have an informal discussion about interrupts and simple serial interface.

KFR is in an industrial condo complex.  Unit P is on the far West side of the complex.  It is on the opposite side of the building with the Roast Beef restaurant.

Both presentations were well prepared and delivered.

Thanks Jim and Todd for presenting! It was interesting to see how things are done with DSP/Bios and I'm inspired to go make my own reprap now.

Interrupts and SPI (a form of serial interface) were covered, as were the RepRap.org family of open-source printers. Both presentations were well organized, and there were interesting questions and answers

I think it will be a small enough group we can just have a discussion. I think the most common question is software vs hardware interupts and how to use them in the task threading. I can show a couple of examples using the TI system and the SPI or SPI interface. I was hoping someone else could talk about the I2C. I need to figure that out myself.

Wish I could make it, but I'll be in California on business.

Interrupts are a very relevant topic. Looking forward to this.
    Self reproducing machines?!?

Please don't do anything formal. I don;'t think there will be more than 10 people there. We certainly don't have to hit every topic in one night. This is just an excuse for some food and compensation. I was just thinking of circling around the big monitor and talk about strategies.

I hope someone else has some experience with self-replicating machines. I have never gotten an auto layout tool to work right yet

Jim, is there a specific topic (in serial busses and interrupts?) that you're interested in? Will you or someone from KFR lead the discussion?
