Subject above: flap about "urban homestead [(R)]"

Have you all seen this? * hopefully the quotations above are enough *

Guess no one is allowed to use those two standard words together without referencing: [(R)] ? See their official letter on their website.

I know a WHOLE lot of blogs are going to have to be edited to remove any reference to these people.
I'm going to have to go through all my posts to see if somewhere/somehow I've made a reference that I need to remove.

This is stupid! Maybe I'm over reacting because I'm sick, but seriously?
What if the Ramones trade marked the term punk rocker? I understand wanting to protect your intellectual property as a writer, but hell, if I coined a phrase that went main stream, I'd brag about it, not try to get people to stop using it without attributing it to me. That will essentially kill the term. Ugh.
Well, here's how I'm going to react to this, I'll just start saying suburban homesteading instead of urban homesteading. I'm more suburban than urban anyhow. This is just really going to irritate me all day.

I guess I am, therefore, a Contemporary Denver Homesteader and should run right and trademark the name. But I feel like sharing - isn't that what Denver is about! Oh, don't let them Californicate us here, again.

There's a petition out get get the trademark reversed... - petition to cancel trademarks on urban homestead and urban homesteading

This could affect us?

Also - they did not coin the phrase - it's been around at least since the 1970's.
