The Greater Littleton Youth Initiative (GLYI) is a strategic approach to enhance the development of young people and to prevent youth violence.The Initiative was formed by the City of Littleton, Arapahoe County, Littleton Public Schools, Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health District, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, the South Metro Chamber of Commerce, the 18th Judicial District, members of churches and other organizations, and citizens who care about the young people of the Greater Littleton community.
Littleton Public School District is hosting an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on February 1 and 2, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
ASIST teaches an adult how to “receive” a suicidal individual and refer him or her to the best place possible be that the hospital, or home with parents. Trainees learn how to perform a suicide “CPR”, or emergency assessment. Read more
