YOUTH EVENT removing invasives along Bowker Creek in Cedar Hill Park!

Join the Greater Victoria Green Team, Pulling Together Volunteers and St. Michael's Summer campers for an invasive plant removal work party! We will be removing Himalayan Blackberry so please wear a long sleeved shirt and pants!
This event is on rain or shine (although I am pretty sure it will be shine)!
Meeting Spot and parking
We would meet the south end of the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre near the bottom of the parking lot. There is ample parking on at the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre
How to get to the site
Transit/Cycling. To find out the best route from where you are, please go to BC Transit (http://www.bctransit.com/regions/vic/?p=2.list) or use Google Maps (https://www.google.ca/maps/preview).
Carpool. If you need a ride log into your Meet-up account, RSVP and leave a message at the bottom of this event page describing where you need a ride from.
Flow of Volunteer Activities
• Meet at 1pm for sign-in and introductions (please be on time)
• Walk to site (follow flagging tape/arrows)
• Remove invasive plants - blackberry and ivy.
• Take a short break after 1.5 hours with treats and refreshments (feel free to bring a lunch)
• Volunteer until 4pm and sign out at the end.
What to bring

• Refillable water bottle
• Dress for the weather. Sunscreen and a hat since it will be hot and sunny!
• Long-sleeved shirt and long pants to protect you from thorny plants and ticks
• Clothing you don't mind getting dirty
• Sturdy, comfortable closed-toe shoes/boots.
We will provide
• Gardening gloves if you don't have them
• Tools
• Instructions on what to do. You don't need to have experience to participate!
• A fun experience, at a beautiful farm, meeting new people!
