Tiny Houses
Aiming to save money, reduce environmental impact, or just to simplify life, many people are joining the tiny house movement. The average size of an American home is about 2500 square feet, whereas tiny houses typically range from 100 to 400 square feet of living space. To make that small of a space livable, clearly good design is crucial.
This month we welcome two guests, both architects, who have designed tiny houses. Addison Godine has designed a few tiny houses for Getaway, a Harvard startup that rents out tiny houses a couple hours out of the city for $99/night. Tracey Powell designed her own tiny house which was featured at ABX in 2015. Both will speak about the specific challenges of designing tiny houses, including systems, material, and dimensional constraints.
Breakfast will be provided by ASSA ABLOY.
