Spring Run

Our first spring ride will start at the Park and Ride in Richmond at 9:00 sharp.  We’ll be traveling down through Middlesex, Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren, then a quick spin through Granville Gulch, back up to Sugarbush, up and over the Appalachian Gap, then on through Huntington, Hinesburg, and eventually to South Burlington, where we’ll have a late lunch.  The trip will be approximately 118 miles through some of the most scenic parts of Vermont. We have lunch reservations at the Windjammer Restaurant in South Burlington.

In addition to our trip, the Trillium Club from Toronto will also be in Vermont with 50 cars and 90 people slated to attend.  This year is the 25 anniversary of the Miata introduction and rumor has it that a camera crew from Zoom-Zoom Magazine will be in Vermont to record the Trillium Run.  They will be leaving Stowe in small groups also at 9:00 AM travelling the same route as us. We don't want to get in the middle of their group so if we have to, we will make adjustments on the fly so each club can maintain their club integrity and operate according to their own club guidelines.  It should be a great day and a memorable first ride of the season.  Please be sure to wave to our Canadian visitors and show our club’s support.

My wife and I had a great time on our FIRST run with VMC. Lots of fun and some beautiful cars! Looking forward to future events. It was nice to meet everyone.

On a different note, I am looking for style bars but am having trouble finding them as I have a factory wind blocker behind the seats. If you can help it would be appreciated.

Nice to get out there with the VMC and help my little car get rid of the winter blues. Nice to see everybody again.

What a great run to start off this season’s rides. The weather was great… a little drizzle for only the first 15 minutes… then all the tops came down. Another super time with a wonderful group of people. So much fun to see… here a Miata here…there a Miata… everywhere a Miata, Miata!!!!

Please respect the speed limits of small communities your group tours through. The speed LIMIT in Huntington's Lower Village is 25 MPH which several of your members chose to ignore while passing through today at approximately 11:30 AM.

Ed, yeah, we discovered this a few weeks ago and have planned the route to avoid route 125. The Trillium routes are also not going near route 125. It was a bit of a scramble re-routing the Trillium run as they have time constraints that we could not change. Thanks for keeping an eye on things.

Folks, I drove down to Rutland today and noticed that Route 125 (Middlebury Gap) is closed for a bridge replacement. There is a 35 mile detour taking you down to Brandon, over Route 73 and then going north on 100. Will have to take this into consideration on timing. There is also construction on Route 7 in Brandon where 73 intersects. Might want to let the Trillium Club know about this before they run into it. EdV

I'm hating I have to miss this run! I just realized that's the day my son graduates from college.

A Silver Anniversary for Mazda's Blue-Ribbon Sports Car. I received this link from a friend in Maine. It is an interesting article about our favorite sports car. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/20/automobiles/collectibles/a-silver-anniversary-for-mazdas-blue-ribbon-sports-car.html?hp&_r=0
