Go Foraging with Wildman Steve Brill in Central Park

Details
We are surrounded by delicious and nourishing wild foods many of which are sadly maligned as weeds. If you are planning a "staycation" for Labor Day Weekend then Central Park is the place to be on Monday the 5th.
Steve Brill will be our expert (and very entertaining) guide to this bounty from 11:45AM to 3:45PM. He'll help us find burdock, sassafras, spicebush, lamb's quarters, wood sorrel, sheep sorrel, edible mushrooms, and much more! Steve says he gets half of his food from the wild. Hmmm...a way to tame that scary grocery bill. A suggestion: With a little attention to the overall design, wild edibles can masquerade as garden regulars. Wild greens are served at some of the most expensive upscale restaurents. Take a look at the menu at Blue Hill http://www.bluehillfarm.com/food/blue-hill-stone-barns/menu
Members will need to call Steve Brill at least 24 hours ahead of time @914 835-2153 to register. His suggested donation is $20 or $10 for children under age 12. He never turns anyone away for lack of funds.
