Second Life ReMix: Eco-Crafting Lab & Competition

Join us on January 25th from 6:00 pm-11 pm for an eco-crafting competition. NYC creatives will divide into teams in an Iron Chef-style competition of up-cycling. Competitors will have to be resourceful as they design, craft, and build with used or discarded materials provided by
Material for the Arts.

Spectators will observe teams and will be encouraged to contribute feedback as the evening takes shape. Eco-crafters, guests, and friends are invited to enjoy live music and innovative works. This isn’t your typical DIY event.

The competition will wrap-up with comments and judging by Jeff Maki (Open Plans) and Eva Radke (Film Biz Recycling).

GREENSPACENYC develops, hosts, and curates participatory events, classes, and workshops about sustainability that run the gamut from art-making & sustainable architecture to food studies & urban agriculture.GreenspaceNYC is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, giving it its status as a 501(c)(3) and receives material sponsorship from Material for the Arts (NYC Office of Cultural Affairs). Additional sponsors include Brooklyn Brewery, Sustainable NYC, and the American Folk Art Museum.

To sponsor the event, join an eco-crafting team, or be in touch email us at [masked].

This was amazing. I went expecting to spectate and instead I left with a hand-crafted lamp made with parts of a vacuum cleaner and a slide projector. Atypical NYC night making the old new. Thanks!
