Greenwich Rhythms - music led moving meditation
with Alex Nikiforov, Bodhi, Jane Belshaw, Sarah Davies and Peter Wilberforce

What is different about this class to 5 Rhythms classes in London?
There will be very little or no instruction. There may be some light teaching in the warm-up or first part of the class, and from then on the music and energy in the room will lead the dance, with no instruction from the teacher (similar to what is known as ‘Sweat Your Prayers’).

It’s an opportunity to listen deeply to your own inner dancer. The power of Music can touch us beyond words. Music is catalysing, healing and unifying. This approach to a movement group is liberating and empowering.

What if I get stuck and don't know what to do?
Take the shape of "stuck" or "I don't know what to do", breath, move in ways that speak from this place. You might be surprised to find how curious and engaged you can become. Everything that arises is an energy that can fuel our dance.

The music-led moving meditation sessions are intended as a place for practice, primarily for those who have some familiarity with 5 Rhythms or a similar movement technique. At least 6 hours of dancing in a class with instructions are recommended before coming to Greenwich Rhythms.

Dancers will have an opportunity to experience a different music style every week as teachers will rotate. All of the teachers have trained as 5 Rhythms instructors directly with Gabrielle Roth and are highly skilled and experienced in the field of moving meditation. You will find their details below.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
