Welcome to the NYC Cooking and Dining Meetup Group!!!
We hold a variety of culinary related events:
Informal Cooking Events: I pick a country and design a menu. We meet at someone's home (usually mine). We cook the entire menu from beginning to end, as a group. It's like an informal cooking class and social evening. It's an afternoon of fun and eating that usually lasts about 5-6 hours, so plan your time accordingly when you RSVP for these events and we recommend having a VERY LIGHT breakfast only before you come.
NOTE: Our events take a lot of planning and preparation. For this reason, $40 annual dues are charged. You have 60 days to evaluate the benefits of the group, prior to making your annual dues payment.
Most events require payment at the time of RSVP. Unfortunately, we have had to do this to prevent NO-SHOWS. You have up until 2 days before every event to cancel and get a FULL REFUND. Otherwise, groceries have already been bought and your money has been spent. Please be mindful of this Cancellation Policy when you RSVP for events.
Cookbook Series: We hold Friday night dinner parties, where we cook a 3 course meal, all from one cookbook. Everyone is responsible for purchasing a few ingredients. Please take your RSVP seriously because the whole group is dependent on you.
NOTE: These events will have a 5 day cancellation policy, so that there is enough time for someone else to take your spot.
Dining Out: We dine out at various restaurants. You are required to pay a $10 deposit at time of RSVP to hold you reservation. $8 of this will go towards your meal.
Foodie Events: We attend types of culinary events, food festivals, etc.
Professional Cooking Classes: Your organizer is also a professional chef that teaches hands on cooking classes.

*A little about your organizer*
- I am a culinary school graduate and have worked in a variety of eating establishments in New York City. I currently work as a Culinary Entrepreneur (personal chef, cooking class instructor, food/travel journalist, international culinary tours). I come from a diverse family background including the Caribbean, India, Indonesia and Holland, which gives me personal knowledge of a large variety of cuisines.
We mingle with amazing people, learn new recipes, and get to eat some uniquely delicious foods!
