This week's run will be one of my "Downhill" Loops. We'll meet at the Anthony Chabot equestrian center and head out on the Goldenrod Trail, drop down into the canyon (where it's nice and cool!), and come back up to the Stables. The total length is about 5 miles and if you walk the last 100m (which I usually do) then it's a net downhill run.
There also may be a much longer option for those who are so inclined. There is a way to run out along the shady side of Lake Chabot for a 6-11 mile out-and-back. But there is a section that can become a creek when it rains. It's probably fine, but I'll check it out before the run to make sure.
There are restrooms and a water fountain at the staging area. Dogs are permitted, but this is a heavily traveled horse riding area, so beware if your dog is skittish around horses.
Running will commence at 6:30pm
See you all soon!
