Composting OC style: Part One

A good blended compost a major component of successful growing. This lecture will cover what it takes makes a good compost blend. We will discuss the pros and cons of:
   Buying vs composting yourself
   Composting techniques and tools.
   Local sources of compost.

In short, just about all aspects of composting will be covered except for vermiculture (composting with worms) and compost teas. These will be covered in part two (next month's meetup).

    Thank you so much for the information! The lecture was organized and the material was unquestionably accessible. I learned so much about composting and I am so inspired to learn everything I can about gardening! Hopefully one day I will be a master like Greg :)

    A fair amount of technical info. boiled down to: equal part green/brown;
    mix it, wet it, turn it (3-5 days). A thermometer is recommended: 135° to
    160°? Use 3'x3'x3' well ventilated bin. If this is all correct and complete it must have been very well presented for me to have remembered. If there are errors it's not Greg's fault. He knows and loves his composting and explains it well.
    Some of the audience questions were asked in fairly soft female voices which are hard for my hearing-aids to pick-up. So if you could repeat those; it would help. It seemed to be less than two hours. It's cool that you take questions during the presentation.

    I hate to change my rsvp but I am helping an elderly couple move. I hope I learn enough in part 2 to help!

    So sorry to miss the meeting on composting.
    I have a one-off work conflict. Thanks for the good meetings so far!

    I would love to come one of these times, however, I play tennis Saturday morning. I will attend when there is rain or no conflict. Sounds like I would get lots of useful information.
