An Introduction to Jenkins: Anything, Automatically!
Andrew Barry, Lullabot
- Does your website need automated tasks to be run?
- Find yourself forgetting how to do common tasks on a server?
- Ever screwed up a deployment of a site to production?
- Want to automatically run tasks when code is committed to version control?
- And want to be alerted by email, SMS, or IM when someone breaks things?
Jenkins is the tool for you!
Jenkins is a system for creating and managing tasks that need to be run automatically. I'll show getting Jenkins up and running, and demonstrate a few example jobs that can be set up with Jenkins. We'll finish by taking a look at the Jenkins setup for the drupal.org (http://drupal.org/) servers to show how Jenkins can be used to help manage even the largest websites on the web.
QR Code Replicator
Dan Steinman, Jaxcore
Dan will demonstrate a new JavaScript QR code generator and bookmarklet, and show some practical uses for it on mobile devices.
The Future of the Web
Sean Yo
What is the Future of the Web? HTML5? CSS3? Web 3.0? More than anything else, the future of the web is people. I'll talk about the importance of teaching and learning web making and show off some cool tools to help along the way.
