Introduction to the Gurdjieff Work

Details
In the early part of the 20th century, George Gurdjieff brought a startling idea to the West from his travels and experiences in the East—man lives most of his existence in a state of sleep, not as a fully conscious being, which is his birthright.
In this introductory discussion we will explore some of the basic concepts that comprise what is now know as “The Work,” and the different forms the Work can take including a study of the ideas, working with the ideas in everyday life, the Gurdjieff/DeHartman music, and sacred dances known as the Movements.
Please join us, and bring any questions you have.
Housekeeping issues:
The meeting will be held in the private room at the far end of the restaurant.
The Foundation does not charge any fee for attendance at these open meetings, but the restaurant, in exchange for use of their private room, requires a total of $50 in food purchases by meeting attendees. So ideally, please plan to have your dinner there before the meeting, or get a to-go meal at the end of the meeting. If a full meal purchase is not affordable for you, at a minimum, please purchase a beverage.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend. If you RSVP and later decide to not attend, please cancel your RSVP on the Meetup site, even it is at the last minute. This way, we know when everyone expected has arrived.
