Hack Data with Math

Details
Everyone can do data science!
At this meetup we will drill down into these datasets:
-
MNIST Handwritten digits images dataset (http://yann.lecun.com/exdb/mnist/)
-
Kaggle Allstate dataset (http://www.kaggle.com/c/ClaimPredictionChallenge)
-
Car Fatality dataset (https://s3.amazonaws.com/0xdata-public/examples/h2o/BodilyInjury/carFatalities.csv) [Download] Readme (https://s3.amazonaws.com/0xdata-public/examples/h2o/BodilyInjury/FatalityReadMe.rtf) [Download]
and time permitting:
- Movie Reviews dataset (http://www.cs.cornell.edu/People/pabo/movie-review-data/review_polarity.tar.gz) [Download]
This is a hands-on workshop on how to interface with H2O using your web browser and do some data science.
So:
A) Grab an H2O jar (http://0xdata.com/h2O/) (if you haven't already!)
B) Go to our docs page and get started (http://docs.0xdata.com/quickstart/top.html)!
If time permits, we will also have a hands-on demonstration of the h2o-R interface and possibly a hands-off demo in Python.
For R: Follow the steps under Sri's comment (https://www.meetup.com/H2Omeetup/events/132640822/?_af_eid=132640822&a=uc1_te&_af=event)

Bring your curiosity, laptop, and a hacker hat!
One last thing: Look for a blog post by myself and Irene (0xdata's community hacker) tomorrow evening! In the mean time, check out our other blogs (http://0xdata.com/blog/)!
See you all Thursday!
