Q language intro + Scala/FP study group

This will be a short introduction to Q, a functional / array / term-rewriting language used in the kdb+ database, whose paradigm is largely influenced by APL. People who already use Q or are planning to use it are welcome to join this dedicated Meetup group:

After the talk and Q&A, people who follow the FP-related Coursera/edX courses can raise any questions about concepts or exercises they would like to discuss.

Thanks to Kim for presenting and to Tomas for organizing - some good food for thought!

Couldn't come. Heard that only 32bit version is open sourced.

The 32bit version is free for commercial use and is not open source. And what could be interesting about that? The k binary weights about 50Kb and the source is 264 lines of C (that was 2011). Arthur managed his source code in five files so that he could edit any of them without scrolling. He hate scrolling :-)

Personally wouldn't use any non-OSS language unless there is no other choices. Then I give this a pass for now.
