November HTP meetup

Details

Welcome to our November meetup!

It will feature lightning talks: we are giving each participant about five minutes to talk about anything they're working on, problems they've come across and would like to have solved (please note that we don't allow soliciting/lawyers/buy-my-app type of talks).

Hack The People is launching an innovative tech mentorship initiative, so we plan to also start a discussion about our individual qualities as mentors and mentees, and how we can foster these types of relationships.

Here is what you can expect at this meetup:

  • Refreshments
  • Networking
  • Lightning Talks
  • Group discussions
  • Keynote speaker: Brook Riggio, co-founder and instructor at Code Fellows. Brook will talk about accelerated learning: Whether your next skill is in coding, design, or business, you can upgrade your internal bandwidth to speed your learning process and get better, faster. When you know how learning works, you'll save time and effort when your next hobby or project requires you to dive in to any unfamiliar territory.

This event has a limited number of seats, so don't miss out and make sure to reserve your spot!

Some parking information for the location: The best bet is to park in the 6-level parking garage in the north end of the village or the parking lot right in front of the store (more parking info HERE (http://www.uvillage.com/information/directions/)).
