uberVU Hack Days #2

On November 26, Saturday, we're gonna gather and hack some cool apps together. RSVP, bring your laptop and we'll have fun!

Who?

Developers, designers and product managers!

What?

The theme of these hack days is going to be visualizing data and interactions. We're gonna think of ways in which we can take data from social networks, do some magic on them and show hidden relationships by grouping and visualizing it in useful and cool ways. If you like html5, jquery, CSS3 you can come up with some interesting interface or graphs. If you are a hardcore developer who doesn't like this stuff, come up with a way of aggregating and combining the raw data into something more elegant, algorithms are sexy. If you are a designer, come and make a concept that is above anything anybody has ever seen! If you are a product guy and think you can come up with a cool concept and flow, come and show us what you can do. There is something for everybody.

The projects: We only give you the main theme and some suggestions and you can work on any project and in any direction that you want.

At the end of the day we'll vote on the best hack and celebrate what we've managed to achieve in just a few hours.

Why?

You'll meet coll people and work on interesting projects. The winners will get glory and praise from the hackers and from us and we'll make sure the projects you built will be blogged about and showed of in all their glory! Plus, it will be fun.

Open Source?

Yes, we encourage you to make your hacks open source. We use benefit daily from open source projects and we think it's nice to share ideas with the world. If you don't like the idea of open source, no problem, it's your choice and nobody says you have to do it.

Some final thoughts: we encourage you to come to the event with an open mind and work with one other hacker that you'll meet for the first time at the hack days.

By the way, that handsome bold guy below is our cool robot, he makes data beautiful. He'll be there too!

Hey guys, so, we had a little discussion here and we are now thinking of postponing this with 2 weeks, to the 26th, is everybody ok with this? I know Andrei might be busy, but what about the rest?

If noone else is thinking of going to startupweekend, then don't change the date just for my sake. I'll look forward to the next hack days.
