post-New Year's Party DNA Extraction with Indie Lab RVA

Indie Lab RVA will be extracting DNA from fruit to make DNA cocktail. The experiment is a simplified adult-version of something that microbiologists do every single day in the lab.

We will also have a number of dishes made through fermentation and be describing the biochemistry behind that reaction.

This experiment involves Bicardi 151, Pineapple juice, and strawberries. Tickets are available at various levels:

No Alcohol Pass (plate of food) $15.00

Alcohol Pass (one DNA cocktail) $15.00

Champion of Science (two drinks + food) $30.00

All proceeds will go to help order equipment for Indie Lab RVA so we can expand the lab, and create more workshops and community activities.

You'll learn about DNA extraction, get to eat plain DNA and drink. IDs will be checked at the door. This event is a classy affair so make sure you dress business casual. We hope to see you there!
