Laser Cutter Training

This Meetup is only for current dues-paying HackRVA members.

Learn how to use the Hack.RVA laser cutter to make wood and acrylic objects from your own designs. We will cover 1) creation of basic artwork in Inkscape, 2) converting your Inkscape and Autocad designs into "laser speak" with CamBam, and 3) basic operations (including safety) of the laser cutter.

Bring your own design or work from a sample design that will be provided. You may also want to bring a USB flash drive to move your files to the laser cutter. Small pieces of acrylic and wood will be provided for you to practice with.

If you wish, download and try out Inkscape (https://inkscape.org/en/download/) before the meetup. You can also load the trial version of CamBam on your laptop if you wish to practice (http://www.cambam.info/downloads/).
