Details

We're going to spend the day soldering and replacing electronics inside Super Nintendo game cartridges.

*Learn soldering and desoldering techniques.
*Burn those skills into your brain.
*Learn about solder paste stencils, workstation jigs, and other aspects of small run manufacturing.
*Get intimate with game cartridges guts
*Gain insight into hardware startup biz.
*Test retro games and learn about the culture of fan games and game hacking.

This is an all day event. Be prepared to man a work station and get your solder on.

If you've soldered before but want to level up your skills or you've thought about making your own electronics to sell someday in the future, this is the event for you.

If you don't trust your soldering skils, but still want the experience, there are several non-solder tasks too, so come on down.

We'll have some music playing, plenty of tech related conversation, and a darn good time. Choice beverages and game play will be had when we reach the finish line.

And here's the hackrva wiki page (http://www.hackrva.org/wiki/index.php?title=PCB_Assembly_Bootcamp) for how-to's Super Nintedo reproduction and a lot of information on PCB creation.

This also raises money for hackrva to buy more cool electronics tools.

See you there!
