This will be an introduction to photoscanning with Agisoft Photoscan. Please bring an object to scan (which is not reflective or too dark). Irregular objects with patterns scan best. Alternatively, attendees can scan each other's heads, as long as the person can hold perfectly still for up to a minute or more.
Cameras are required for this workshop. Preferrably DSLR cameras. Cel phone cameras can be used but will produce the worst results.
Scans will be processed in the order the pictures are taken. If we run out of time, we can always let the last people just continue with the software after learning from the first few. Keep in mind that more pics = higher quality scans but longer processing time.
By 1 PM the space will be open for Free Hack Time, so those that are first to take pictures will be first to have their scans processed.
These scans can be sent directly to the 3d printer, however usually they need to be cleaned up first. If we have time, I will cover cleaning up the scan as well. The better the scan, (number and quality of pics) the less cleanup is required.
Again, please bring your DSLR camera if you have one!
Snacks will be provided.
