Tizen is a new operating system. Samsung Electronics and Intel (among others) are launching it. You can use web technologies to write applications that run across multiple device segments. Phones will be released this year and there's already an app store to publish your apps on.

So it is your chance to get in early!

Join us for a DevLab followed by a Hack Competition alongside the first Tizen Developer Conference (https://www.tizen.org/events/tizen-developer-conference/2013/conference-schedule) at the Hilton in SF. We'll kick off on Friday at the Hacker Lounge in the hotel and come back on Saturday to one of the co-working spaces in the city.

Both the DevLab and the Hack Competition are FREE and OPEN to developers (even if you haven't attended the conference).

What to expect
--Devices will be available for you to use.
--3 categories for awards — Grand Prize, Most Innovative, Best Ported App
--You may bring code but you will be judged on what you build during the competition
--3-minute technical demo with the Tizen emulator
