I started programming an arduino to display bus arrival times for the two bus routes from my house to my office. I planned to mount it by my front door so I could glance at it on my way out and know whether to go east or west, and whether I needed to run to catch the bus. I ended up moving before I finished it, though, so the need disappeared.
It's a bit off-topic, but I recently home-brewed a genuinely delicious IPA. Other than that, it's been a few years since I completed a genuine maker project -- my day job has dominated my life. But I'll be slowing down when I get to Albuquerque, and am looking forward to more time for side projects.
Civic apps. Arduino. Home & garden automation. Brewing. Repurposing vintage tech and furniture for contemporary needs.
Mostly just wanting to connect with other creative and technical folks, and to make new friends when I get to Albuquerque. I'll have a lot of free time, so I'll be eager to collaborate on side projects, and am open to expanding/evolving my skill set to get involved in the community.
Moving to Albuquerque this summer, and eager to connect with other creative & technical folks. I've got a background in software engineering, but have spent the past five years working in non-profit advocacy and digital communications.
