Have you ever wondered what tech drives the amazing interactive visualizations from outfits such as The New York Times, FiveThirtyEight, or The Washington Post? These data-rich, immersive visuals are often powered by a small JavaScript library called D3.js. For this talk, I will give an introduction into what it takes to begin building these visualizations yourself! No programming experience is required.
Andy is the organizer of the Austin D3.js Meetup group. You can checkout some of his work here (http://encodingpixels.com) and here (http://atxplorer.com). He also spends his days working on data visualizations for The Daily Kos.
