Greetings fellow Hacks and Hackers!
It’s time for another excellent night of hacking in great company. This time our hacking is hosted by Danish daily “Information".
Bring your computer or any gadget you would like to work with. Do not hesitate to bring cool ideas and half-finished work.
We kick off the night with a show-and-tell, and afterwards we pair up in groups to work on projects. The best groups are usually the ones with a good mix of super powers – wether it be code, words, research, graphics, or brainstorming for the next big media hit.

I have a couple of projects and ideas. Among others I would like to work with these data on air quality in Denmark: http://www2.dmu.dk/atmosphericenvironment/byer/forside.htm
They are updated every hour from different stations around the country, and it would be cool to check out if (and how often) they rise above agreeable levels of air pollution. It takes the right kind of scraping tool, but I def think it is doable.

Does it have historical data as well? Would be cool to use the data to forecasts the future as well !

I går talte jeg om mit værktøj, som mundret er kaldet "networks". Der er rigtigt mange rå kanter, men jeg vil gerne hjælpe med at få det op at køre, hvis man har et projekt, man gerne vil bruge det til. Til alle freaksne ligger kildekoden her: https://github.com/jchillerup/networks
Jeg talte også om at scrape Fødevarestyrelsens smileydatabase og udtrække tingene i klartekst, så man kan lave fritekstsøgninger og fx finde ud af hvilke butikker og restauranter, der har haft rotter senest.
Udover det, så talte jeg varmt om konferencen http://dataharvest.eu/, hvor jeg håber vi kan have en lille danskerdelegation. Vi kommer i hvert fald tre fra mit lille firma :)
