Hacks/Hackers have teamed up with SMK (The National Gallery) for a different kind of September meet-up. In the splendid surroundings of the gallery – who have extended their opening hours to host the event - the focus is on how to find new ways to use the many cultural datasets, set free within the last two years, for interactives, news stories or supplementary content.
The event is an ignite session for this years’ HACK4DK hosted by DR on October 2. -4. – so if you come up with a good data idea it could be crafted at the Hack-a-Thon in October.
The programme for meet-up on the 9th of September:
17.30 – 18.00: Arrival and registration
18.00 – Presentation by data guru, Henrik Chulu and SMKs digital editor, Jonas Heide Smith
18.30 – Former winner of Hack4DK, Rasmus Halling Lorentzen
18.45 – Introduction to the cultural datasets
19.00 – Networking
20.00 – Tickets to this year’s Hack4DK are released.
21.00 – Gathering and sharing of ideas.
22.00 – Everyone has left the building
There will be free snacks and refreshments!
We look forward to seeing you all!

The worlds of journalists, designers and developers are coming together as reporting goes digital and Internet companies become media empires. Journalists call themselves "hacks," someone who can churn out words in any situation. Hackers use the digital equivalent of duct tape to whip out code. Designers and hacker-journalists work to bridge the two worlds.
Hacks/Hackers brings all these people together — those who are working to help people make sense of their world. It's for journalists, developers and designers exploring technologies to filter and visualize information, and for those who use technology to find and tell stories.
In the age of information overload, all their work has become even more crucial. This group aims to help members find inspiration and think in new directions, bringing together potential collaborators for projects and new ventures.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
