Join the first-ever pan Latin American "Money Trail" hackathon (http://larutadeldinero.info/) with 13 other Hacks/Hackers chapters in Latin America. We'll be the only U.S. chapter joining in. It's a great opportunity to collaborate across borders and learn more about budgets, government spending, campaign finance, and South Florida's financial ties to Latin America.
Check out the details about the regional event at http://larutadeldinero.info/
And start figuring out what you want to work on at our Hackdash: http://dineromia.hackdash.org/
If you're ready to dig into some data and work with other passionate journalists, designers and developers, come join us for a collaborative hack day! Newbies and pros are welcome. Bring your skills and let's follow the money together.
This ground-breaking hackathon has already been previewed by Univision (http://noticias.univision.com/article/1976117/2014-06-03/tecnologia/no-te-pierdas-el-hackday-latinoamericano-la-ruta-del-dinero), The Associated Press (http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/05/31/4149019/pan-latin-hackathon-seeks-to-follow.html), The Miami Herald's Starting Gate blog (http://miamiherald.typepad.com/the-starting-gate/2014/06/this-saturday-journalists-developers-and-designers-are-invited-to-take-part-in-a-simultaneous-14-city-civic-hackathon.html) and the Knight Foundation blog (http://www.knightfoundation.org/blogs/knightblog/2014/6/4/miami-joins-latin-america-money-trailing-hackathon/).
