The New Tropic is one of the most exciting local media startups in South Florida. It's a media and events company that helps fellow Miamians explore and connect with the fascinating, lovably eccentric city we call home. Much like Hacks/Hackers, its goal is to create a unique community of curious locals who share ideas, inspiration, and opportunities.
The New Tropic publishes a daily e-mail newsletter that curates the day’s most important local news and its own original stories. And it produce events, from tours to art lessons to civic forums, that get locals together to explore with and learn from each other.

7:00 p.m. - Meet and greet at The New Tropic HQ
7:30 p.m. - Q&A with The New Tropic founders Rebekah Monson, Bruce Pinchbeck and Chris Sopher. Moderated by Hacks/Hackers Miami co-founder Dan Grech.
The goal of this event is to introduce the Hacks/Hackers Miami community to this fast-growing new media startup (in case you're not already aware of it, because you should be!) and to intermingle the loyal Hacks/Hackers Miami and The New Tropic communities. Please bring friends.
