Our partners at Chicas Poderosas are partnering with some fantastic FIU grads to host this three day mediathon. RSVP links below. The event will provide young media professionals with workshops on virtual reality, podcasts, digital portfolios and social media.

Chicas Poderosas is an international movement to get more women involved in journalism and technology. The first two days of Chicas Poderosas FIU will include the following sessions: -Salary negotiations, impostor syndrome, work-life balance

-Covering minorities and community journalism

-Visual Storytelling

-Virtual Reality -Snapchat storytelling

-Creating a digital portfolio -Podcasts And the third day will be a hand-on mediathon at The Lab Miami. Let’s tell Miami stories together. We will have an introduction on income inequality and gentrification in Miami. Later, participants will have a few hours to produce stories in Wynwood around that topic.
