Choose your own adventure

Hi all,

We've got this room set up at 1871, so let's put it to some use.

What would you like to work on?

Would you like to lead the group on something you've been working on?

Teach us all something? Like when we did the GitHub class.

Would you like to just have this be a space and time you could use to work on your individual projects?

Let us know,

Thank you!

I'm kicking myself in the butt for not being able to make this!

Jose, I am sure Lou Dasaro and I would be available at other "Chicago Tech Events " in the near future. I'm part of this Who is Chicago’s Hottest Showcasing Startup? [POLL] http://tech.co/chicag... I shall be demonstrating/presenting Software Defined Radio before: October 15 - 17, 2013 Illinois Institute of Technology's Real Time Communications Conference and Expo Where: The Conference is located at IIT Hermann Hall, 3241 South Federal, Chicago, IL 60616. http://www.rtc-confer...

I'll demonstrate why Software Defined Radio surpasses existing infrastructure "Mindset" per this LinkedIn post:

You can't fit everything in Life " Within a Business model ".

Manufacturing Software Defined Radio devices, or "Advanced Manufacturing", within Chicago creates business models stoking economic development & employment .

    :-)

Hi Martin, Is there a time slot you'd prefer? 2nd or 3rd?

      September 16, 2013

    • Martin O.

I will be there and yes I shall take the 3rd slot. I told Mr. Lou to inform you of this a few days ago.

    Cool!
Since there are 3 of you, let's do a signup for 3 time slots of 30min. You don't necessarily have to fill the entire time, we can just roll on to the next person. Pick which time you would prefer and we will work with that. Thank you!

If no one objects, I'll take the first slot. I have some flexibility, but can't do the third slot. I'll probably have a couple of people with me.

The second or third slot is fine depending on which Martin would prefer.

I can do a 30-40 minute session on developing in JavaFX with Scene Builder.
This would be a short version of the presentation I gave last spring. See http://www.meetup.com/Chicago-JavaFX-User-Group/events/111759002/

I am a Contributor to NetBeans and QA Owner for JavaFX on NetBeans 7.4

I'd love to talk about the work we're doing at CivicLab, a civic makerspace in the West Loop! A product of that has been the TIF Illumination Project which is using data journalism to expose the finances of Chicago's TIF districts. I'd also like to discuss the theories underpinning CivicLab as well.
