How to Develop Social Audiences for Journalism

Details
[OPEN TO ALL. INVITE OTHERS.]
Social networks have emerged as the primary channel for content distribution, audience development, even market research, especially for journalists. What tools, tactics and tech does your newsroom need, whether you're new to the game or an established player?
This weekend, Hacks/Hackers (https://www.facebook.com/groups/hackshackersdelhi/)launches in Bengaluru, bringing together industry leaders for a free-wheeling discussion on this theme. Each will speak to how their publication/product approaches this challenge and what seems to be working/failing.
As always, this is an informal unconference for community-driven learning and skill-sharing. We will have a series of 10-minute talks or presentations followed by five-minute Q&As. So far, we have:
• YourStory (http://www.yourstory.com). Social Media Lead Abhash Kumar (https://www.linkedin.com/in/aabhash) will represent them.
• Frrole (http://frrole.com/). Co-founder Amarpreet Kalkat (https://in.linkedin.com/pub/amarpreet-kalkat/10/677/803) will represent them.
• Simplify360 (http://simplify360.com/). Co-founder Bhupendra Kanhal (https://www.linkedin.com/in/khanalbhupendra) will represent them.
The event will close with an open networking session and chai-shai for the attending journalists, technologists, product heads, investors and entrepreneurs.
We are still lining up more speakers, so if you know anyone with a great product/platform in the social x news space, let us (the hosts) know via Facebook Messages. Do RSVP on this event's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1003748823080174/) too + invite others you think might be interested.
Here are recaps of some of our past meetups:
