* PLEASE NOTE, THE DAY OF THIS MEETUP HAS CHANGED *
The date for this meet up has changed. It was due to take place on Wednesday but is now happening on Thursday. Many apologies for any inconvenience caused.
What if I can't now attend?
Please take yourself off the list by changing your RSVP status. This will mean that someone on the waiting list will be able to attend in your place. They will be very grateful and so will we.
Oh no, I'm too far down the waiting list!
Never fear. We're continuing our experiment with a limited number of "queue-jumping" paid passes.
The idea – suggested by community members – lets you skip the waiting list and helps us raise some funds to expand the work of Hacks/Hackers London.
Buy your pass here:

What's happening?
We have drinks! Our friends at Time etc are buying the beers this month.
For those of you who don't know, Time etc enables you to pay hand-picked assistants by the hour to do things like admin, blog writing, social media, organising or anything else you generally don't have time to do yourself.
Time etc are giving away free credit to spend on their platform to all attendees. Just go to http://www.timeetc.com/hackshackers to register for free.
What about speakers?
1. Andrew Fogg, @andrewfogg, import.io
2. Jamie Bartlett, @JamieJBartlett, Demos
Lightning talks
Jeremy Walker, Newsfixed
Once again, apologies for the date change at such late notice. We hope to see you on Thursday.

Hope it was a great night. It was very frustrating I was only told I made the list at twenty six last night. Couldn't make it in time

I bought and printed the ticket at Eventbrite.co.uk but I still show as in the waiting list :/
January 29
I am so excited about this event tonight. Is there a dress code? I would like to wear a large hat.

One more space available. Sorry I can't make it I was really looking forward to tonight.
January 29
Hi, I'm an IT recruiter looking for developers. I see that the event is full but would there be a chance to meet some developers later who are looking for jobs in London?
January 29
So sorry, something's come up and I just can't make it tonight. Such a shame, was looking forward to catching up with everyone.
I've changed my RSVP to free up the ticket.
Have fun everyone!
And if anyone's going to IJF in Perugia, see you there x
January 29
Hi ...can't attend, just changed my rsvp, so some lucky soul can go for it :) In case any of you are looking for an accountant for your limited company, please give me a shout.
January 29
Unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow but my colleague Rebecca Rutt will be coming along in my place :)
January 28
If you are still on the wait list and want a 'queue-jumping' ticket, there's an option to pay £10. Here's the link (if the date says Weds then ignore that, it should be Thurs) https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hackshackers-january-meetup-tickets-15371429359
January 28
Sorry unfortunately can't make the changed day either. :(. I've freed up my spot.
January 28
unable to attend :,(
if there are any Java developers out there looking for a job - please give me a shout, I have many up my sleeve x
January 27
So, much like a lot of others, I can't make the new date. I've freed up a spot for one lucky winner.
January 27
Can't make it now and just changed my RSVP, so there's at least one ticket spare...

Hi everyone,
We’re a young start-up looking for an IOS and a PHP/Front end developer. The product being built will change the way that employees in specialist industries learn and interact with one another. We already have a prototype in the app store and have quite a lot of work done on the back end.
If you’d like to learn more or just help out on the project drop me a message here or at: [masked]
Thanks!
Eoin

I am now travelling to the the States, so have updated my RSVP so someone on the wait list can take my place. I am completely honoured to have been asked by NASA to attend the SMAP (soil moisture active passive) mission launch at the end of Jan. Basically it is mapping the level of moisture in soil across the planet. So providing lot's of data for flood defence, agriculture tech and much much more. I will be covering the event via social media from the airforce base in Lompoc CA. Please follow me on twitter @nushkino if you are space science/environmental/weather prediction intrigued. I am so utterly honoured to have been asked! Here is the link to more info: http://1.usa.gov/174FMgq
I am in LA a few days before and after, if you have any cool recommendations for cool stuff to do, please let me know.
Have a great one all! Hopefully see you at the Feb meetup!

I'm hoping this will be a good event as usual. In the meantime I'm doing a bit of crowdfunding. If you're able to contribute it will be greatly appreciated (link below). If you can, please also feel free to share the link. Many thanks!

Hi, you all ! I'm facing a security problem at the moment. Maybe you can help. Some hacker is hacking my email accounts. How would you solve this problem ????
Cheers.

I edit a mag/site on information security (hacking, cyber-espionage etc) and welcome news leads and expert comment.

I'm putting together a feature on journalism hackathons taking place in 2015 – does anyone have any to add to my list? It's an international list so not confined to the UK, and I'll be publishing it on Journalism.co.uk in the next day or two.

I'm surpris ed by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
