How to build a citizen newstip verification system

Hi I'm a journalist here in Portland, and would be interested in putting together a joint presentation with the hackers from the March Hare collective about their open source tool suite for collecting, filtering and managing news tips on twitter and text. I helped develop a prototype for a system that would be useful for news directors like myself while I was at Stanford last year on a fellowship (http://www.newsti.ps) ...I had used a tool called Swiftriver, which is part of the Ushahidi project.... the basic idea is to have a multi-tiered system that will allow journalists to filter through the mess that is twitter and other social media for actual real-time news tips that are verifiable and accurate.
would people be interested in something like this? if so we can set a time and date for a presentation/discussion....
