WXXI hosted hacking (sprint)

  • June 28, 2014 · 12:00 PM

Hello HHRoc!

WXXI will be hosting us on June 28th for a mini hackathon (sprint) to work on YellR.

Food will be provided!

If you have a project that you have been working on, or would like to work on, come join us at noon at WXXI!  We will be on the 5th floor hacking from noon to sometime between 6pm and 8pm ( or whenever we get kicked out, ha).

If you have a data set that you need assistance working with, feel free to drop by as well, and we'll  get you paired you up with someone who can assist you interpreting the data, and/or teach you how to work with it.

Luis, Remy and I will be working on bringing up the back-end for the WXXI YellR app and connecting the front-end.  If anyone else would like to work with us, feel free to join!

Looking forward to really getting a lot done on the YellR app and seeing what other people are working on!

I want to be there, but I will be in the middle of moving our NOC. If it goes well I will make it... if not I won't be there.

What sort of projects can we hack on?

    June 23, 2014

It would be great to see some new projects started, or older projects continued. HHRoc has a few things that we have been working on, you can read about some of them here: http://hhroc.github.i...

If you are working on a current project, bring it on by. If you are looking to work on something new, there is lots to play around with in the hhroc github repo: https://github.com/hhr... I would really like to re-do the interface on http://mcsafetyfeed.o... but haven't gotten enough free time lately to dive back into it.

Sahar, YellR is the citizen jounralism app that WXXI is putting together with Knight Innovation Fund funding. You can see a quick 'one pager' here: http://hhroc.github.i...
