The 13 points of Security Issues with Open Government Data + Yellr Update

  • Sep 25, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Dr. Tom Keenan gave a talk at Blackhat Asia 2014 about the security issues around Open Government Data.  I have reached out to him to get his slide deck, and will be giving a brief presentation using some of his material and my own.  I hope to then open the meeting to an open (non-technical) discussion about open data and government data.

Matt Leonard, Luis Rosario, and I will also be giving an update on Yellr ( https://hhroc.github.com/projects/yellr ) which is the joint venture between HHRoc and WXXI to create a citizen journalism and engagement app.

As always, all are welcome to bring their projects or data sets that they would like to present, or are having trouble with.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Cool topic. Wish I could make it to this one. I've let the people at Interlock and Rochester 2600 know in case they're interested.

Sorry you can't make it Mark. I'll be sure to send out my slides afterwards. Thanks for passing along the meetup!
