Intel Edison Hack Night
Details
Hackster Hardware Meetups are for anyone looking to learn about electronics and hardware hacking. It’s an open and supportive environment for people at all levels. Absolute beginners, Welcome! Learn the basics of circuits, make things blink. We’ll have snacks and fun hardware on hand.
This hack night will focus on the Intel Edison (https://www.hackster.io/intel/products/intel-edison). The Edison is a tiny computer (like a Raspberry Pi) from Intel. It's a development system that will help you explore the IoT space and create innovative projects.
We’ll have Intel Edisons and Grove Starter Kits (https://www.hackster.io/seeed/products/grove-starter-kit-plus-for-intel-edison) for all the attendees so that you can follow along and get hands on experience!
We’ll be working step-by-step through this project (http://www.hackster.io/martinkronberg/twitter-dogs-2-electric-woofaloo-24aec0).
We will be creating a real time Twitter monitor that will react to specific hashtags, display information on an LCD, move a stepper motor, and display the location, user, and tweet text on a website served by the Intel Edison.
If you’re curious about getting started with electronics, hardware hacking, or the Intel Edison, come by!
This hack night will be the first in a series designed to help people get started with electronics! Sponsored by Hackster.io (http://www.hackster.io) and Intel (https://www.hackster.io/intel).
