Nia Dance Class at High Park- Etobicoke

Details

Come join me for a Nia dance class in High Park!
We’ll meet outside of the Starbucks near High Park and then find a nice spot for moving.
Nia (Neuro Integrated Action) is a design system that promotes sustainability in the body. The practice borrows movements and sensibilities from the Dance Arts, Martial Arts, and Healing Arts.
The class is welcoming of all experience levels, ages, and body types.
The point is to get into your body and experience the joy of movement! Come in clothes you can sweat in and definitely bring water to hydrate your beautiful body. No mat needed. Dancing barefoot is encouraged but if you are more comfortable in shoes, listen to your body. Feel free to take the class at your own pace and, of course, enjoy the music!

Chelsea is a certified Nia teacher. A holistic fusion fitness practice, Chelsea finds Nia classes to be an empowering context for health, self-love, and well-being.

Interested in the community building potential of dance, Chelsea is Executive Director of a non-profit organization mandated to make dance and other movement classes accessible to Torontonians. She has recently launched a regular Nia class at the Islington Seniors Centre and is working on developing more community movement programs.

Chelsea also holds regular Nia classes at Bliss Yoga Studio in Etobicoke and has previously taught volunteer classes at non-profit organizations: Fife House and Blessings in a Bag (Singapore).
