A TDD masterclass with our visiting guru Leon.

Leon Messerschmidt, very experienced agile developer, is in Bangalore for 2 weeks. We've managed to convince him to reprise his masterclass on Test Driven Development at our offices here.

Leon will be doing a hands on coding/talk session based on the workshops he attended with Kent Beck as well as his many years of experience. The format will be part coding session, part talk. This will be around about 1 - 1 1/2 hours long, depending on questions and discussion.

Leon has worked for both Lonely Planet and Aconex, companies with a long history of agile practice. Leon is now an Engineer Manager at Aconex where he mentors diverse teams both here in India and in Australia on TDD, BDD and a bunch of other XP/Agile practices. For a large part of the last few years, Leon has worked extensively in legacy code and how best to apply agile principles there.

Leon grew up on delphi and pascal, but lately his main meal has been Java. Fortunately, he's been able to vary his diet with some tasty Angular JS. Join us in what promises to be an enjoyable yet educational evening, to continue to food theme, we're going to put on pizza and drinks for those of you who make the effort to get here and participate.

We'd appreciate firm rsvp's to help with catering (or we'll have to forcefeed our developers cold pizza for a month)

It was an introduction to TDD, starting from scratch, but was interesting meeting people interested in testing and growing designs from tests. It was really good to see examples in Scala. It was also good to have people volunteering to participate in the code.

Thanks Toni. It was fun having you and the others from Thomson R around. We started with an intro because we weren't sure of the level of TDD experience of the folks attending. That said, was there something that you would have liked us to cover in the meetup?

I'm leaving on 9th and I've seen next meeting is going to be beyond that date, so no worries. I want to see this community growing.
