We have received a few requests for another beginner session, so here it is. Remember that while we try to share the same knowledge, every class is taught differently in an effort to improve the technique.

In today's day-long workshop we will learn how to code in core JavaScript. No frameworks, no libraries, just plain ole' JavaScript.

This is a hands-on class where we will learn and apply JavaScript in one day. It will not make you an expert overnight, but it will give you an invaluable shortcut to picking it up quickly.

This is a professional development class that is intended for you to develop marketable skills that will help you in your career. Companies usually have training budgets, so ask your employer and they may choose to sponsor you. This is an investment in your professional skill set.

The workshop will be taught by myself, Milan Adamovsky. If you've come to my other events you may be familiar with my progressive teaching/presenting style - and this will be no different. My goal is to engrave this knowledge in you and give you a solid understanding of the topic. This is a rare opportunity for you to learn JavaScript in an extended session from someone who's been doing this for over 10+ years.

The cost is $150 for this day-long event. The fee covers my time, food, drinks, and classroom space. I am trying to keep the fees below the outrageous fees charged by academies and other schools that can range in the hundreds or thousands.

There is limited seating as to keep the class smaller, so make sure to RSVP early.

By the end of this workshop you should be able to code a basic JavaScript application and understand the workings of the moving parts to make it do what you want it to do.

This is a day-long workshop to allow for coding, questions, exercises, and have an interactive experience.

RSVP
You will only need to pay a non-refundable $25 to RSVP. This will benefit both as you will not freeze more money than necessary, and I won't have to pay the PayPal fees. The balance will be paid in class.

The RSVP fee is non-refundable unless the class details change with respect to date. The location will be determined based on number of RSVPs.

Please RSVP as early as possible to help me gauge class size and pick a location. RSVP will be open until ten days before class begins, at which time the location will be announced to those of you who registered for the class. No RSVPs will be accepted after July 17th.

Helpful Note
To understand if this class is for you and to get more benefit, here are a couple of questions you should be able to answer right now to determine if you are ready for this class:

  2. What is a function?
  3. What is a loop?

These are considered very basic concepts you should already understand on your own. We will build on this knowledge, strengthen it, and equip you with the knowledge needed to help you in your JavaScript career.

While the skill level is entry-level, it is a good idea for those who already dabble in JavaScript but want to solidify their understanding of JavaScript to sign up as well.

Homework
To help you further internalizing the information light homework will be offered. This is optional and will come in the form of a small project, repetitive exercises, and/or other problem solving exercises.

If you are interested in homework, please make sure to let me know at the end of the class.

You will have a time frame to complete your homework and submit it for my review and feedback via e-mail. There is a limit of one feedback per homework.
