Their home-based and center-based programs are designed to empower those who are most vunerable and who least access to the basic necessities of life, in the conviction that the enitre family grows when individuals and families are affirmed in their own dignity.

Re-scheduled from Feb. 8th - On Valentine's Day, Feb. 14th, LSA will be holding a Valentine-themed arts and crafts activity with East Harlem children. This is a great, low-pressure alternative to doing something positive on a "holiday", giving your time and attention of a few hours to children who appreciates it!
They will invite up to 20 children ages 8 - 11 to create Valentine's day cards for their parents and family members. Additional activities will include icebreakers, games as well as other craft activity. Craft supplies (paper, safety scissors, glue, etc.) will be provided by LSA - all that's required is your time helping the children create. The event starts at 6:30pm and will run until about 8:15pm, after which there will be a social hour with some staff members and other LSA volunteers at Harley's around the corner from the center.
