Introduction to Tai Chi/Qigong! Hosted by EmblemHealth - Suggested Donation: $5

In conjunction with EmblemHealth, this introductory Tai Chi and Qigong restorative wellness class is being held exclusively for the HarlemGo Meetup group members!

You will experience basic chi (energy) movements that help to reduce stress, gain clarity and promote relaxation.

You will be guided through:

• Chi (energy) movements/stretches

• Breathing techniques

• Energy meditation

Originally from China, but now practiced the world over, Tai Chi and Qigong combine natural, physical movement with breathing, visualization, and mental concentration, to give you a full body and mind workout. The mind is actively engaged, making Tai Chi and Qigong superior for relieving mental stress and enhancing personal growth and emotional well-being.

Our Meetup

When you arrive to the EmblemHealth office, just mention that your are with the HarlemGo Meetup, attending the Tai Chi class. The class starts at 6pm, but please try to arrive around 5:45pm to settle in.

As mentioned, this class is exclusively scheduled just to the HarlemGo Meetup members, and because space is limited to 20 people, only member RSVP's can be accepted (no 'plus' guests).

The class for the most part is free, but a $5 cash donation from each person attending for the instructor's time would be greatly appreciated.

Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing and be sure to let your doctor know that you will be taking part in an exercise class.

If you are running late or have any questions, please feel free to call/text Daniel at 774.275.3646.

Thanks!

When I arrived home my son was sick. I won't be able to make it. So sorry to miss the Tai Chi intro. Hoping you can arrange another lesson.

Sorry I have to change my RSVP but in my excitement
about this Meetup I accidently double booked myself.
I hope this event, or something similar, will be offered again soon. Enjoy.

I already have a commitment this Thursday but like fellow member, Ann, would very much like to do this on another day. I have the same question about the class being offered on a regular basis as well as this weeks special session.
I've been wanting to try Tai Chi for the longest. A beginner class - in my neighborhood - would be fantastic!

Darn it!! I have yoga at 6 pm on Thursdays! Would love to try this. Is this something that the Emblem community clinic offers to all neighborhood residents on the regular? Or is this a special occasion? SO sad it's on a Thursday. :(

EmblemHealth does offer the class each month on their regular calendar, however it's very hard to get in due to the popularity.

Our class is completely separate from their monthly schedule and is exclusively offered to our group members.
