Linked Data, in what is being called "the semantic web" or "web3.0", represents a great opportunity to improve the way we navigate, partner, and manage in complex business, technology, and political ecosystems.

The purpose of the group is to focus on putting to work linked data applications in business environments starting with what is likely to be top growth sectors over the next years: energy, health, and education.

We will also focus on applications in the travel, tourism, and meeting industry drawing upon Hawaii's strength in this area, as well as her multi-cultural population, Native Hawaiian host culture and interest in caring for the environment. In addition to energy sustainability, food and communications sustainability are of interest.

Business owners, entrepreneurs, technologists, business resource partners, investors and those interested in public policy are all invited.

BTW, "hui" for those "malihini" (newcomers) reading this means "group". If you are visiting Hawaii you are welcome to join us. Right now we are having our first meeting on Maui, but hope to also get some meetings going on the island of Oahu.
