Design products & services that people want to use - Part 2

Details

April's Health 2.0 workshops sees the return of Service Design thinking and how it can be applied to healthcare.

We'll be picking up where we left off in February and taking attendees through the first two D's of the double diamond framework.

Agenda:

18.00 Arrival & Networking

18.15 Cara Afzal (GM AHSN): "

Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GMAHSN) and HEALTH 2.0 -Capturing the public perspective on design"

18.30 Service Design presentation & recap

18.45 Start discovering

19.30 Start defining

20.00 Finish

Unlike our rapid prototyping workshop, we'll be slowing things down and explaining the ins and outs of the First Two Stages of Service Design so that participants are able to fully understand the ins and outs of design thinking.

We'll be addressing the issue of compliance with medication* in healthcare and understanding from the service users perspective, how this can be addressed and where the problem stems from.

To make really close to reality we are looking to involve members of the 'public' , i.e.. patients, potential patients, carers who use health services to provide a public perspective on the designs and we will be examining the acceptance of use. This is quite a unique opportunity so make sure you do not miss out that one!

Don't worry if you missed out on our first workshop, you won't be left behind. Service Design is a new methodology and is open to everyone and anyone so feel free to come along to learn something new and how to solve problems in healthcare in an innovative and open way.

Whether you come from a the digital side of healthcare, administration or you are a caregiver or a start-up or SME developing healthcare solutions, this fun and interactive workshop will help you provide services that people want to use.

If you are attending the meetup to provide a public perspective, please highlight this when you sign up.

Any questions? Let us know and we'll be happy to answer them.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts,

Vim, Idalia and Cara

BIOs

Gregorio Faralli is a service designer with a passion for human-centred design and a focus on digital. He is innately curious about solving challenges and finding new opportunities through design thinking. He loves wine, cooking and speed-painting videos - it might be an Italian thing

Vimla Appadoo loves to connect people and have lots of fun along the way! She runs Manchester Service Jam, dances to MJ in the streets (seriously) and is a massive geek who you can often find at any tech community event or cake shop in Manchester.

*In medicine, compliance (also adherence, capacitance) describes the degree to which a patient correctly follows medical advice. Most commonly, it refers to medication or drug compliance, but it can also apply to other situations such as medical device use, self care, self-directed exercises, or therapy sessions [Source: Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compliance_(medicine))]
