Payment is increasingly connected to data, especially quality measures. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that 30 percent of Medicare payments are based on quality, not quantity. CMS hit this target almost a year ahead of schedule.

Hear from experts in the area of data-driven quality measurement.

Core Quality Measures for Quality Improvement

In February, America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and its members, as part of a collaborative effort with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other groups, announced the release of seven core sets of quality measures. The goals of this effort are to establish broadly agreed upon core quality measures that will allow for less complexity in reporting for clinicians, decrease the overall cost burden to consumers and the health care system, and ensure high-quality care for patients.

Anna Ng (https://www.linkedin.com/in/anna-ng-58222845) of ArborMetrix (http://www.arbormetrix.com/home), a clinical analytics platform (Ann Arbor, MI):

The Science of Healthcare Performance

Payers increasingly demand providers report their performance - especially quality and efficiency. ArborMetrix provides a cloud-based platform with real-time performance measurement reporting, which helps healthcare providers identify variation and drivers in outcomes and processes of care. ArborMetrix serves professional societies, large health systems, and national and regional improvement collaborative program.

David Fairbrothers, CEO of Dorsata (https://www.dorsata.com/) (Arlington, VA):

Deriving insights from data in healthcare decision-making is only half the battle!

Effective use of data will transform the quality of the healthcare our providers are delivering while also vastly reducing its cost. Current implementations of data-driven insights at the point-of-care are ineffective at best and painful at worst. How can the healthcare technology industry solve the big data challenge and the user experience issues our care providers deal with every day?
