Health Technology Forum: DC has hosted entrepreneurs and others with great solutions to our healthcare challenges.

Now: It's time for the doctors to speak! Join us for a panel of physicians who will explain the impact technology is having on their practices. What is working well? What is working poorly? What new health technologies do they want to see in the next few years to improve their abilities to take care of patients?

Our panelists are:

Dr. William Kimbrough, MD (http://www.onemedical.com/dc/physicians/william-kimbrough/), of One Medical Group (http://www.onemedical.com/dc/doctors/) in Washington, DC, has particular interests in sports medicine and in the treatment of complex medical conditions. After receiving his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, he earned MD from Georgetown University, completed his residency at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital in New York City, and earned a Master's in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Denton Shanks, Do, MPH (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dentonshanks), who is completing a residency in family medicine at Unity Health Care in Washington, DC - one of the busiest, most diverse safety-net health centers in the nation. His patients include native Washingtonians, immigrants, and refugees. He has also done medical research an service in Japay, India, Central & South America; studied in Spain, and taught English in China. He is committed to global sustainable development and advancing mhealth & telemedicine, lifestyle medicine, and primary care transformation to improve patient care.

Dr. Natasha Mary Yousaf, MD, of Mary Washington Hospital (http://www.marywashingtonhealthcare.com/mary-washington-hospital) in Fredericksburg, VA. Dr Yousaf is an internist specializing in acute inpatient medical care. She is familiar with several healthcare software systems, including Epic. Dr Yousaf has experience with telemedicine and has engaged in medical care via phone and video chat.

LTC Peter Van Geertruyden, MD, of Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (http://www.fbch.capmed.mil/SitePages/Home.aspx) (Fort Belvoir, VA) and EagleEye Radiolgy (http://www.eerad.com/) (Sterling, VA). An Army physician, LTC Van Geertruyden is a board certified radiologist with a subspecialty in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging. LTC Van Geertruyden spent two years as a flight surgeon with the 1st Armored Division including a nine month deployment to Iraq. He currently serves as the Chief of MRI and Musculoskeletal Imaging at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital; and co-founder of EagleEye Radiology, a company that provides teleradiology services to hospitals.
